This writer has read significantly the actual Vatican II documents, although not all. Further he has read much from all sides on Vatican II representing argument that roughly align the two extremes on the spectrum of opinions.
Of course, \ \" Pope Paul VI was clear there were no new doctrines taught in Vatican II nor new errors answered, \ \" per recent NCR article.
This means nothing changed. But yet much changed.
How could much change, when nothing was changed?
The answer is that there was nothing wrong with Vatican II, unfortunately many in the Church did not follow and do not even today.
In summation, Vatican II was in continuity with the previous Church councils. It was those, who were not in the Council, who adopted a so-called and largely subjectively defined \" spirit of the council \" that, well, changed everything.
Vatican II as a continuance of the Church's teaching is analogous to the Ten Commandments put to tables. While this spirit of the council are like fictional tenets written upon the water.
