Jesus said to His disciples, “Peace I leave with you ; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you.” {Jn 14:27}

So there are at least two kinds of peace: Jesus’s peace vs. the world’s [the Enemy’s?] “peace”.

But how can we tell the difference? Perhaps we can use another of Jesus’s wise sayings: “By their fruits you will know them.” {Mt 7:16} What is the goal? The means? The results?

And let us remember that “peace is more than the absence of war”.

Jesus’s real peace does God’s will, upholds human dignity, and builds God’s Kingdom.

The world’s “peace” settles for disarmament, corrupts human freedom, and makes matters worse.

For “peace at any cost” is always a bad policy.
